Shortly after deducting money from the account, the customer’s money is returned to the account. But there are times when it takes a while for your money to arrive. Sometimes it also happens that the customer has to file a complaint for his money.
If this has happened to you or if you do not know about this rule of the bank, then know that if the money is not returned within 7 days of filing the complaint, the bank will give you Rs. 100 per day. The bank pays the loss accordingly. In case of failed transactions, these rules of RBI are applicable from 20th September 2019.
If UPI transaction fails, complain like this
If the money is not refunded after your digital transaction, you can register your complaint by going to the UPI application.
You have to go to the payment history option for that. Here you have to go to Rage Dispute. File your complaint at Rage Dispute. The bank will refund the money on your complaint.
Do this when an ATM transaction fails
To receive a penalty from the bank, you must file a complaint within 30 days of the transaction failing. Your complaint must be filed with the bank along with your transaction slip or account statement. Apart from this you have to tell the details of your ATM card to the authorized employee of the bank.
If your money is not returned within 7 days, you will need to fill out the Annexure 5 Form. You will start receiving penalties from the day you fill out this form.
